ZONE 2 POLICE COMMAND BEGINS PROMOTION EXERCISE FOR INSPECTORS

The Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan Lagos, has commenced the Departmental Selection Board (DSB) promotion exercise for Police Inspectors, in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to enhance personnel welfare and strengthen career advancement across the Force.

The exercise, which is taking place simultaneously across all Police Zonal formations nationwide, will run until Friday, December 5, 2025. It is designed to assess eligible Inspectors serving under the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands for promotion to the next rank.

Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, presided over the opening session. Addressing participants, he congratulated them on meeting the requirements for the exercise and urged them to maintain the highest standards of discipline and professionalism. He stressed that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to a fair, transparent, and merit-driven promotion system.

AIG Fayoade also cautioned officers against any form of misconduct, bribery, or corruption during the process, emphasizing that integrity remains a core value of the Force. He is being supported in the exercise by the Deputy Commissioners of Police for Finance and Administration, DCP Bello Adamu, and for the Zonal Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Olubode Fakeye.

The promotion assessment reinforces the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to improving personnel welfare and rewarding hard work, competence, and dedication among officers, thereby building a more motivated and professional workforce.
