The Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Lagos, CP Rose Chollom Dung, has formally retired from active service in the Nigeria Police Force after attaining the statutory retirement age of 60 years. The retirement ceremony, which coincided with her 60th birthday, was held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Lagos.
CP Dung, the 32nd Commissioner of Police to head the PSFU, bowed out of service in the presence of top-ranking officers of the Nigeria Police Force, senior government officials, industry leaders, stakeholders and dignitaries from across the country. Among those in attendance were Assistant Inspectors General of Police Aishatu Abubakar Baju, OON, mni, Force Gender Adviser to the Inspector General of Police; Adegoke M. Fayoade, mni, psc, minim, fisn, AIG Zone 2, Lagos; Margaret Ochala, AIG FCID Annex, Lagos; Okunade Ronke Nurat, fsi, mspsp, AIG Maritime, Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos; Omolara Oloruntola; and the Commandant, Police College Ikeja, CP Simeon Udofia Akpanudom, fdc. Also present were the Commissioner of Police, Anti-Fraud Section, FCID Annex, Lagos, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, psc, mnim, fdc, other retired senior officers, and distinguished guests.
Speaking at the event, CP Dung expressed deep gratitude to God for His guidance, protection and good health throughout her policing career, describing her retirement as a moment of thanksgiving and reflection. She commended the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for his leadership, commitment to professionalism and personnel development, as well as his efforts at promoting inclusivity within the Force.
The retiring Commissioner paid glowing tribute to the officers and personnel of the Police Special Fraud Unit, Lagos, describing her tenure at the Unit as one of the most rewarding periods of her career. She praised their discipline, dedication and professionalism, noting that their conduct played a key role in the Unit’s operational successes and in boosting public confidence. CP Dung also acknowledged the support of stakeholders and institutional partners, whose collaboration enhanced the investigative capacity of the PSFU.
She concluded by appreciating friends, colleagues, partners and well-wishers for their support and presence at the ceremony, while expressing confidence in the continued professionalism and commitment of PSFU officers in the discharge of their duties.
In a goodwill message, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Maritime, Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos, AIG Okunade Ronke Nurat, fsi, mspsp, described CP Dung as a resilient and dedicated officer whose contributions to the Nigeria Police Force were significant. She wished the retiring Commissioner a peaceful and fulfilling life after active service.
The event marked the end of a distinguished career dedicated to professionalism, integrity and service to the nation.
