In a continued drive to enhance physical development, discipline, and leadership training among cadets, the Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, AIG Patrick A. Atayero has commissioned a newly constructed, state-of-the-art seven-a-side football field powered by solar energy.
The facility is the latest addition to the Academy’s growing portfolio of sports infrastructure under AIG Atayero’s leadership. It follows the recent commissioning of a basketball court, badminton court, and a dedicated chess and scrabble center—initiatives aimed at promoting both mental and physical fitness among trainees and staff.
Speaking at the commissioning, AIG Atayero emphasized the critical role of sports in instilling core policing values such as resilience, teamwork, strategic thinking, and leadership.
“Beyond academic excellence, policing demands strong character, physical stamina, and mental agility. Through sports, we help shape cadets into officers who are not only intellectually prepared but physically and morally equipped to serve the nation,” the Commandant stated.
The solar-powered football field also aligns with the Academy’s broader commitment to sustainable development and energy efficiency within its facilities.
The Nigeria Police Academy remains steadfast in its mission to develop well-rounded officers ready to meet the dynamic challenges of modern law enforcement.
