Adamawa Students Trained in Modern Farming Techniques Through Federal Workshop

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with the Renewed Hope Initiative and the Office of the Wife of the Adamawa State Governor, Hajiya Lami Fintiri, has concluded a two-day capacity-building workshop aimed at educating students and youth on modern agricultural practices.

The programme, held in Adamawa, featured practical training sessions and the distribution of farming inputs and livelihood support materials. Its primary objective was to inspire a new generation of agriculturally savvy youth who can contribute meaningfully to food security and economic development.

Key sessions were led by Meldin Tarfa and Dishi Khobe, officials from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, who delivered lectures on sustainable farming, agro-processing, and agribusiness opportunities. The workshop also featured interactive discussions to stimulate students’ interest in agriculture as a viable and rewarding career path.

Representing the Wife of the Governor, Hajiya Lami Fintiri, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Neido Kufolto, underscored the importance of introducing agricultural education to young people early. She noted that the initiative aligns with the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda to empower communities, alleviate poverty, and strengthen national food systems.

Participants described the workshop as enlightening and timely, with many expressing a renewed interest in agriculture.

Officials from the Ministry reaffirmed their commitment to supporting grassroots initiatives that drive innovation and capacity-building in the agricultural sector.
