The Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Assistant Inspector General of Police Patrick A. Atayero has formally declared open the 2025 edition of the Commandant’s Games at the Academy Stadium.
The annual sporting event, which runs from July 7 to 9, is designed to foster physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and camaraderie among cadets. This year’s edition features cadets from various Regular Courses competing in football, athletics, volleyball, and indoor games.
In his opening remarks, AIG Atayero underscored the critical role of sports in nurturing key policing values such as leadership, resilience, and unity. He urged participants to uphold discipline, professionalism, and good sportsmanship throughout the competition.
The Commandant also lauded the organizing committee for its dedication and seamless coordination, which he said reflects the high standards expected of future police leaders.
The Commandant’s Games remain a central tradition in the Academy’s efforts to develop well-rounded officers equipped with both physical endurance and ethical fortitude.
