The Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero has reiterated his firm commitment to instilling discipline, enhancing welfare, promoting academic excellence, and fostering the holistic development of cadets under his leadership.
He gave this assurance during an address to cadets of Regular Course 11 on Monday, 2nd June 2025, at the Academy premises in Wudil, Kano State.
AIG Atayero, a seasoned law enforcement officer and administrator, underscored the importance of character, professionalism, and physical preparedness in the making of future leaders of the Nigeria Police Force. He encouraged the cadets to embody the core values of integrity, patriotism, and resilience, stressing that these attributes are indispensable to effective policing in contemporary Nigeria.
The Commandant also highlighted the Academy’s strategic role in shaping a new generation of officers equipped to confront emerging security challenges. He assured the cadets that the institution remains committed to creating an enabling environment for learning, leadership training, and ethical grooming.
Since assuming office, AIG Atayero has led various initiatives to strengthen the institutional framework of the Police Academy, with particular focus on curriculum enhancement, cadet welfare, and enforcement of discipline in line with global best practices.
His address comes at a critical time as the Force intensifies efforts to reform and professionalize police training institutions as part of broader security sector transformation.
The Nigeria Police Academy remains the premier institution for grooming officers into the commissioned ranks of the Nigeria Police Force, combining academic rigour with paramilitary training to produce well-rounded security professionals.
