AMAC Council Poll: Lone Female Aspirant Challenges 22 Men for APC Ticket

Mrs. Jennifer Nnamudi, the only female contender in the race for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket in the upcoming Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) election, has declared her intention to compete against 22 male aspirants.

Speaking to journalists after submitting her nomination and expression of interest forms at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, Nnamudi vowed to bring transformative leadership focused on health, security, and youth empowerment.

“If elected, I will prioritize free healthcare for pregnant women and address insecurity with the firm resolve of a woman’s touch,” she said.

She criticized the poor access to basic services in AMAC despite its status as host to the Federal Capital Territory. “It’s unacceptable that residents still struggle with healthcare, security, and job opportunities,” Nnamudi said.

She pledged to hold skills acquisition programmes three times annually to tackle unemployment and empower residents.

Expressing confidence ahead of the primaries, she stated, “I may be the only woman among 22 men, but I believe I will win. When you give a woman a house, she turns it into a home.”

Nnamudi also decried what she described as inadequate dividends of democracy in AMAC, promising to raise the standard of governance if elected.
