One of the armed robbers terrorising commuters in Agege area of Lagos has met his Waterloo.
The suspect was allegedly lynched by an irate mob after apprehending him at Akerele junction where he allegedly snatched a mobile phone from a commuter.
Lagos Police Spokesman, Mr Benjamin Hundeyin said that the angry people beat the suspect to stupor and about to be lynched by the mob when the police arrived at the scene.
According to Mr Hundeyin, the mob ran away on sighting policemen while the suspect, saidu sinah alias Ojibintin was rescued with severe injuries but later died in a hospital during treatment.
He said that the suspect and his cohorts, now at large , were said to have stabbed a middle aged woman and dispossessed her of her phone before the mob swoop on them.
Mr. Hundeyin stated that the victim had been treated while the police had put in place measures to arrest the fleeing members of the robbery gang and those who participated in the jungle justice.
