The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa has received the official flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC), formally endorsing him as the party’s candidate for the July 12, 2025, local government elections. The flag presentation, held at the APC State Secretariat on Acme Road, Ikeja, marked a significant milestone in the party’s preparations for the upcoming polls and reaffirmed Olowa’s position as the party’s standard bearer in Ibeju-Lekki.
Speaking shortly after receiving the flag from the party leadership, Hon. Olowa expressed deep appreciation to the APC family for their continued trust and support. He pledged to deepen the progress already recorded under his administration, promising to sustain a people-centred governance approach anchored on his S.H.I.E.E.L.D. Development Blueprint. According to him, the blueprint focuses on improving healthcare, expanding access to quality education, strengthening citizens’ welfare, boosting infrastructural development, and enhancing local revenue generation, all while promoting digital governance and responsive leadership.
Although the party’s councillorship candidates across the seven wards of Ibeju-Lekki were not presented with their flags at the event, the APC officially confirmed their endorsement and announced that their flag presentation would hold separately in the coming days. The event drew wide attendance from party leaders and loyalists, underscoring the unity and readiness of the APC structure in Ibeju-Lekki.
Among those present were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Taxation and Revenue, Hon. Opeyemi Ogungbo; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy and Mineral Resources, Hon. Abiola Olowu; and the Member representing Ibeju-Lekki Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Oladele Ajayi. Also in attendance were key figures from the APC Apex Leadership in Ibeju-Lekki, including Hon. Tansiru Shoniyi and Hon. Gbenga Balogun. They were joined by the party’s councillorship candidates, ward chairmen, youth representatives, and women leaders.
In his remarks, Hon. Olowa described the overwhelming show of support as humbling, adding that it serves as a call to greater service and renewed commitment. He stated, “The support shown today is humbling. This calls for more work and dedication as we approach the polls. It reminds me that leadership is a trust — one I intend to uphold with accountability, innovation, and fairness.”
With the party’s flag in hand and his candidacy confirmed, Hon. Olowa now moves into the final stretch of the campaign, poised to engage the electorate and consolidate grassroots support in his bid for re-election.
