APC Releases Final Guidelines for Saturday’s Chairmanship Primary at ACME

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Electoral Committee has released final guidelines for the party’s Chairmanship Primary Election scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at ACME Headquarters. The announcement follows a strategic briefing held on Thursday and outlines key procedures to ensure a transparent and orderly process.

Each aspirant is allowed only one accreditation tag, which may be assigned either to themselves or to a designated agent. To receive the tag, the name of the aspirant or agent, along with their Local Government Area (LGA), must be submitted via WhatsApp to the Accreditation Committee through the appropriate LGA Chairman.

For transportation, Council Chairmen have been instructed to provide a single vehicle for the conveyance of LGA executive delegates to the election venue. The committee emphasized that no private or official vehicles will be permitted near the venue in order to maintain security and manage crowd control.

Delegates will be disqualified from voting if they have defected from the APC, are absent or out of town on election day, or are currently standing as candidates for either Chairmanship or Councillorship positions.

The committee also addressed withdrawal procedures. Any aspirant who voluntarily withdraws from the race by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 9, will be entitled to a full refund of the nomination fee. A formal letter of withdrawal must be addressed to the Chairman of the Electoral Committee.

Accreditation of delegates will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. All stakeholders are urged to comply fully with the directives to ensure a credible and peaceful election.
