The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State has sworn in newly elected Ward Chairmen and Secretaries across its eleven wards, in a move aimed at strengthening grassroots leadership and party cohesion.
The ceremony, held on March 3, 2026, drew the attendance of party stakeholders and government officials, reflecting what leaders described as renewed efforts to consolidate the party’s structure at the ward level.
Among those present were the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa; his Vice, Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji; the APC Lagos East Youth Senatorial Leader, Hon. Gbenga Balogun; the APC Local Government Party Chairman in Ibeju-Lekki, Hon. Aliasau Idowu Eletu; the Renewed Hope Ambassador Coordinator for Ibeju-Lekki, Hon. Adewale Raheem Kazeem; and Hon. Adewale Adebanjo.
Speakers at the event said the swearing-in aligns with the party’s broader vision under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, emphasizing unity, effective representation and development-driven governance.
Addressing the new executives, Olowa congratulated them on their emergence and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by mobilizing members and promoting inclusivity at the ward level.
“This is a big responsibility which you must live up to, as you are to carry every member of the party along,” he said, adding that a strong party structure remains essential for sustained development in Ibeju-Lekki.
Similarly, Eletu charged the ward leaders to work diligently to strengthen the party’s foothold, foster peaceful coexistence and ensure service-oriented leadership within their respective communities.
The newly sworn-in Ward Chairmen are: Ashafa Fatima (Ward A); Openiyi Shakiru Hassan (Ward B); Ogunyemi Kafayat (Ward C1); Nosiru Wasiu Adebowale (Ward C2); Abiodun Apena (Ward D); Morufu Shefiu (Ward E); Elemoro Adewale (Ward F); Muritala Olalekan Muka (Ward G); Jubrila Moshood (Ward H); Sanwo Ahmed (Ward I); and Abass Toyin (Ward J).
Party officials said the development forms part of ongoing preparations to build a more robust and people-focused political structure ahead of future electoral activities in the local government area.
