Tributes have continued to pour in for former Lagos State Governor, His Excellency Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode (FCA), as he marks another year of life, with political leaders, stakeholders, and community representatives hailing his legacy of transformative leadership and dedication to public service.
In a heartfelt message, Otunba Bode Ogunniyi, Epe Divisional Youth Leader and All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Aspirant for Epe Local Government, described Ambode as “a visionary leader and trailblazer” whose tenure ushered in an era of unprecedented development in the Epe Division.
“Under his visionary leadership, Epe was not just transformed — it was reborn,” Ogunniyi said. “From infrastructural upgrades such as modern roads, drainage systems, and the iconic Epe Marina project, to major investments in education, health, and youth empowerment, Governor Ambode’s contributions remain deeply felt across our communities.”
He further noted that Ambode’s leadership instilled a renewed sense of pride in Epe’s identity and potential. “He placed our town on the map, not only in Lagos State but across Nigeria,” Ogunniyi added, expressing gratitude on behalf of the youth and residents of the division.
Similarly, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, offered birthday felicitations to the former governor, praising his unwavering dedication to the advancement of Lagos.
“Your legacy of impactful service has been an inspiration to us all,” Hon. Olowa stated. “May the good Lord grant you long life in good health and enduring prosperity.”
Mr. Ambode, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), served as Governor of Lagos State from 2015 to 2019. His administration was noted for its focus on infrastructure renewal, urban regeneration, and sustainable development across the state.
As the celebratory messages continue, many Lagosians recall his legacy with admiration and a shared hope for continued progress in the communities he once led.
