In anticipation of the 2025 Eid-ul-Adha celebrations, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim community in Enugu and across Nigeria, urging them to celebrate peacefully and uphold the core values of the season—obedience, sacrifice, and harmonious coexistence.
In a statement issued on Thursday, CP Giwa announced the strategic deployment of intelligence and operational assets across the state to ensure the safety of lives and property throughout the Sallah and holiday period. The deployment targets key public areas including prayer grounds, major roads, markets, recreational centres, and other vulnerable locations.
The Commissioner directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and heads of specialized units—including the State Intelligence Department and the Distress Response Squad—to enforce the deployment order effectively. He emphasized the need for professionalism, decorum, and respect for human rights in the conduct of officers throughout the festive season.
Reaffirming the Command’s unwavering commitment to public safety, CP Giwa encouraged residents to remain vigilant and law-abiding. He urged the public to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency contact lines: 08032003702 and 08086671202.
