As part of efforts to ensure a secure and peaceful Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has deployed 2,150 personnel across the state to protect critical national assets and infrastructure.
This deployment follows the Federal Government’s declaration of Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark the Muslim festival, as announced by the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
Lagos State Commandant, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, emphasized the strategic importance of early deployment to ensure public safety during a period expected to witness high human and vehicular movement. He noted that the NSCDC’s operational plan aims to prevent criminal activities, especially vandalism of critical infrastructure, and to maintain law and order throughout the festive period.
Officers have been directed to secure strategic facilities, oil pipeline installations, public utilities, places of worship, parks, gardens, and government assets at all levels. All formations of the command have been mobilized with instructions to remain vigilant, professional, and responsive to any threat.
The Commandant also issued a stern warning to officers to remain on red alert and maintain high standards of professionalism and respect for human rights, while discharging their duties before, during, and after the festivities.
In his goodwill message, Commandant Keshinro congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the occasion and urged them to emulate the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). He also called on residents to pray for Nigeria’s unity, peace, and development.
