Prominent Islamic clerics convened at the inner palace of the Emir of Ilorin on Friday for a special prayer session dedicated to national peace and the success of Nigeria’s leadership.
The prayer, organized at the behest of the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, sought divine intervention for stability across the country and prosperity for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
In his remarks, the Emir emphasized the importance of unity and divine guidance during challenging times, noting that the session was intended to ask Allah to restore peace to troubled regions and bless the efforts of national and state leaders working to improve the lives of Nigerians.
The spiritual gathering was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Soliu, supported by Imam Imale of Ilorin, Sheikh AbdulHamid Abdullahi, and Imam Gambari, among other respected clerics.
Speaking on behalf of the governor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, Special Adviser and Counselor to Governor AbdulRazaq, said the prayer underscored the significance of faith in leadership and governance.
“Ilorin is a citadel of Islamic knowledge where the Qur’an remains the guiding light. The Emir embodies piety, and the palace remains a sacred place for divine supplication,” Salahu stated.
The prayer session highlighted the strong connection between faith, leadership, and community in Kwara State and reflected ongoing efforts to seek spiritual support for governance and national unity.
