Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command, working in collaboration with members of the Neighbourhood Watch, have arrested a 20-year-old armed robbery suspect in the Thinkers Corner area of Enugu.
The suspect, identified as Nwachukwu Chukwuma, was apprehended at approximately 11:30 p.m. on June 1, 2025, while loitering suspiciously on a street within the area. A search conducted at the scene led to the recovery of one locally fabricated pistol loaded with a live cartridge.
According to the Enugu State Police Command, preliminary investigation is ongoing to establish the suspect’s intentions and determine his possible involvement in previous armed robbery incidents in the area.
Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, has directed that the case be thoroughly investigated, with particular focus on identifying possible accomplices and uncovering further evidence.
