The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, has been honoured with the Best Healthcare Development Award at the 2025 Lagos Grassroots Achievers Award held at the Victoria Garden Event Centre, Alausa, Ikeja.
The prestigious recognition celebrates her outstanding contributions to strengthening primary healthcare delivery and promoting community well-being in Epe.
The event, which brought together exceptional grassroots leaders from across Lagos State, witnessed a moment of excitement and applause as Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun was announced as the award recipient.
The award highlights her administration’s significant strides in the health sector, including the renovation of primary health centres, organization of free medical outreach programmes, improved maternal healthcare services, and the introduction of community-based health insurance schemes aimed at expanding access to quality medical care.
In her acceptance remarks, Hon. Princess Animashaun dedicated the award to the people of Epe, describing them as the driving force behind her administration’s achievements.
“This award is a symbol of what is possible when leadership meets purpose. I dedicate it to every health worker, every mother, every youth, and every child in Epe. This victory is ours,” she said.
The honour further reinforces her reputation as one of Lagos State’s most people-centered local government leaders, in alignment with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda, which prioritizes health, human capital development, and social inclusion.
