The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to promoting quality education and youth development through the 2025 Epe Local Government Spelling Bee Competition held at the Council Secretariat.
The annual event, aimed at enhancing literacy, confidence, and academic excellence among pupils and students across the council area, brought together contestants from various primary and secondary schools in Epe.
In the Primary School Category, winners emerged as follows:
1st – Areh Almeem (St. Michael Primary School II)
2nd – Ekoja Victory (St. Theresa Primary School)
3rd – George Mathew (Community Primary School, Erepoto II)
For the Secondary School Category, the top positions were:
1st – Daud Mujitaba (Ogunmodede Senior College)
2nd – Alijosan Opeyemi Joy (Epe Girls Senior High School)
3rd – Eze Augustine Joan (Epe Grammar School Senior)
The competition attracted notable dignitaries including the Education Secretary, members of the Legislative Arm, teachers, parents, and other education stakeholders, who lauded the Chairman for her continuous investment in youth-focused educational programmes.
Winners and participants received prizes and commendations from the Council in recognition of their outstanding performances, with many describing the initiative as a motivational platform that inspires students to pursue academic excellence.
Speaking at the event, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun emphasized that education remains the most powerful tool for community transformation and national development. She reiterated her administration’s resolve to continue supporting initiatives that promote learning, discipline, and creativity among young people.
