Epe Local Government has celebrated a major milestone in healthcare development with the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Accident and Emergency (A&E) Centre at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Epe, by Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
The world-class facility was formally commissioned today and handed over to the community, marking a significant leap forward in emergency healthcare delivery for the region. The project was realized through a strategic partnership between the Lagos State Ministry of Health and the Custodian Social Responsibility Foundation (CSRF), underscoring the value of public-private collaboration in addressing critical health infrastructure needs.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in his remarks, reiterated his administration’s commitment to expanding equitable healthcare access across the state. He commended CSRF for its role in delivering the modern facility and emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation between government and private partners to drive healthcare transformation.
Reacting to the development, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun FHTI, lauded the Governor and CSRF for their investment in the wellbeing of Epe residents.
“This is a dream fulfilled for our people. On behalf of the entire Epe community, I extend heartfelt thanks to our visionary Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and to CSRF for bringing this life-saving facility to our doorstep,” she said. “We are committed to supporting and safeguarding this legacy of progress.”
The A&E Centre is fully equipped with advanced medical equipment and is designed to provide round-the-clock emergency response services, greatly enhancing the region’s capacity to handle accident and trauma cases promptly and effectively.
The commissioning was witnessed by key government officials, representatives from CSRF, traditional leaders, healthcare professionals, and members of the Epe community, who expressed gratitude for the much-needed upgrade to the area’s emergency care infrastructure.
