In a significant move to improve women’s healthcare access, Epe Local Government, led by Executive Chairman Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, has launched a collaborative initiative with Pearls Specialist Foundation to provide free to subsidized fibroid surgeries for women across the community.
The initiative is designed to support women suffering from fibroid-related conditions by delivering safe, high-quality surgical care without financial barriers. The partnership reflects Epe Local Government’s commitment to responsive and inclusive healthcare services.
Medical screening and enrollment for the programme will take place on Monday, 16th June 2025, at 9:00 AM at the Epe Primary Health Care Center, where interested participants will be professionally assessed to determine eligibility. Depending on clinical evaluation and financial status, selected beneficiaries will receive fibroid surgery either free of charge or at a highly subsidized rate.
According to a statement signed by Yusuff O. Temitayo, Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, the initiative aligns with the council’s broader mission to empower women, advance public health, and build a stronger, healthier community.
