In a renewed effort to improve grassroots healthcare delivery, the Onakoya 2027 Campaign Group, in collaboration with the Rhodes-Vivour Foundation, is organizing a free medical outreach for residents of Epe Federal Constituency in Lagos State.
The outreach is scheduled to hold on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Popo-Oba Recreational Centre, Epe, and is expected to benefit at least 500 individuals through free medical services.
The initiative is led by Dr. Abdulkareem Onakoya, a political analyst and lecturer at Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Oto-Ijanikin, who said the outreach aims to deliver accessible healthcare to underserved members of the community regardless of political affiliations.
“This is an opportunity for people in Epe to access free medical care,” Dr. Onakoya stated. “Our mission is to ensure that no one is left behind in the fight against preventable diseases.”
According to the organizers, the outreach will provide: Free medical consultations and tests, free essential medications, a three-month health insurance cover for beneficiaries and referrals for further medical care where necessary.
The campaign also aims to tackle common and preventable ailments such as malaria, typhoid, hepatitis, and other febrile illnesses, which remain prevalent in rural and semi-urban communities.
Dr. Onakoya urged residents to turn out in large numbers, emphasizing the importance of proactive health care, especially for the vulnerable and economically disadvantaged.
The outreach aligns with ongoing grassroots health interventions across Lagos State and reflects a growing collaboration between civic-focused political groups and philanthropic foundations in addressing public health challenges.
