As the local government elections approach in Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), a civic advocacy group, Competency Above Politics Movement, has issued a clarion call for unified support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates across the constituency.
In a statement signed by the convener, Comrade Aleku Seriki Monsuru, the group endorsed Hon. Monsuru Akinloye, the APC chairmanship flagbearer, describing him as a “tested and trusted leader” committed to continuity, inclusive governance, and impactful service delivery.
“We call on all indigenes and residents — including the youth, elders, artisans, traders, professionals, religious leaders, and other stakeholders — to rally behind Hon. Akinloye to sustain the progress already recorded in Eredo LCDA,” the statement read.
The group also advocated for unified support of all APC councillorship candidates across the five wards, emphasizing the need for political harmony and collaborative development at the grassroots level.
“Let us vote competency above politics,” the statement concluded, adding that such a decision would ensure sustained development and inclusive governance for all.
The local government election is scheduled to hold next month, with political campaigns intensifying across Lagos State.
