Eredo Youths Declare Support for Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye’s Re-Election Bid

As campaigns intensify ahead of the forthcoming local government elections in Lagos State, strong grassroots support is mounting behind the re-election bid of Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA). Among the latest to endorse his candidacy is grassroots mobiliser and youth advocate, Ibraheem Ogunbanwo, who described Akinloye as a “youth-friendly, people-first leader whose tenure has redefined responsive governance.”

In a statement issued Tuesday, Ogunbanwo, widely regarded as a youth ambassador within the Epe Division, hailed the first-term achievements of Hon. Akinloye, highlighting key interventions in education, youth empowerment, and social infrastructure that have positively impacted the council area.

“Hon. Akinloye has proven that leadership can be driven by compassion, competence, and character,” Ogunbanwo stated. “He has empowered countless youths through bursaries, vocational training, and the distribution of free JAMB and GCE forms. His administration has actively engaged young people, not just with promises, but with opportunities and inclusion.”

Under his leadership, Eredo LCDA has seen the construction and renovation of public schools, distribution of learning materials to pupils, and policies aimed at easing the financial burden on families—moves widely praised by community stakeholders. Beyond education, Akinloye’s administration has earned recognition for improving local infrastructure and promoting inclusive governance that places the needs of residents at the forefront.

Describing Akinloye as a “talk-and-do” leader, Ogunbanwo urged voters in the area to rally behind him at the polls, calling his re-election essential for sustaining developmental momentum in the LCDA.

“A vote for Hon. Akinloye is a vote for continuity, for the future of our youth, and for the advancement of Eredo,” he said. “Let us consolidate on the good work and keep progress alive.”

With support growing across the council area, Hon. Akinloye’s campaign is expected to focus on deepening education reform, expanding youth development programs, and building on achievements recorded during his first term.

The local government elections in Lagos are scheduled for July 12, 2025.
