The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has applauded the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul-Hammed Salawu, popularly known as “Dullar,” for inaugurating four major legacy projects aimed at deepening grassroots development.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs, Olusegun Akinyemi, following the inauguration of a new Administrative Building, a Legislative Building, a Fire Service Station, and a Police Post in the council area.
The First Lady, represented at the event by Hajia Fatimah Tajudeen Abass, wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, described Hon. Salawu as a “Star Boy” among local government chairmen in Nigeria. She praised him for delivering enduring legacies and inspiring hope for future generations.
Also speaking at the event, Mrs. Oluremi Obafemi Hamzat, wife of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State who represented Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, commended the chairman for setting a high standard for local governance and urged continued efforts to sustain the development achieved.
The Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, affirmed that the people of Somolu made the right decision by electing and re-electing Hon. Salawu. He encouraged residents to support APC candidates in the upcoming local council elections.
Members of the Governance Advisory Council, Senator Anthony Adefuye and Prince Rabiu Oluwa, also commended the chairman’s leadership, noting that the unique quality of the administrative complex and other projects would make future political campaigns in the area easier.
Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, described the construction of a local fire station as a bold and commendable step. She pledged immediate deployment of personnel and an additional fire truck to support the station.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Khan, who represented the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, said the new police post would strengthen security and improve operational efficiency within the community.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Alhaji Akanni Seriki (Baba Bamu), Conference 57 Chairman Hon. Kolade Alabi, Bariga LCDA Chairman Hon. Lukman Ajala, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other key stakeholders from across Lagos State.
