Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has strongly condemned the brutal killing of prominent legal practitioner and President General of Aguleri community, Mr. Ifeanyi Iloakasia, who was murdered alongside his client on Thursday, May 17, 2025, near the Agulu-Nanka boundary area.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, the Governor described the attack as senseless and cowardly, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of a man known for his unwavering commitment to peace and community development.
Governor Soludo extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and the people of Aguleri, assuring them that the State Government is working closely with security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice without delay.
“The Anambra State Government takes this heinous crime with utmost seriousness,” the Governor stated. “We are intensifying efforts to track down the assailants and ensure that justice is served. We will not allow criminality to thrive in our state.”
In a related development, Governor Soludo also commended the swift and courageous response of state security personnel who successfully repelled an attack on a security checkpoint in Isuofia on May 15, 2025. Unfortunately, the incident claimed the life of one gallant officer.
While mourning the fallen officer, the Governor noted that calm has since been restored to the area, with heightened security measures now in place to safeguard lives and property across the state.
Governor Soludo reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to peace and security, urging residents to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies.
“We must stand united against the forces of violence. Together, we will secure our communities and preserve the peace we have worked hard to build,” he said.
The Governor also reassured Ndi Anambra that his administration remains resolute in protecting all citizens and will not relent in the fight against criminal elements threatening the safety and harmony of the state.
