In a significant step toward enhanced inter-agency collaboration, the Commander of Army Garrison Abuja, Major General W.M. Dangana, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, paid a historic courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ajao S. Adewale, at the Police Headquarters in Garki, Abuja.
The visit, described as the first of its kind by a sitting Army Garrison Commander to the FCT Police Command, signals a new era of strategic cooperation in addressing the evolving security challenges facing Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory. With increasing demands on security agencies, the move has been widely regarded as timely and impactful.
Major General Dangana, while addressing senior police officials, commended the Nigeria Police Force for its critical role in maintaining internal security. He highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration between the military and police, stating that synergy between both forces is essential for a more effective response to security threats in the capital.
In his remarks, CP Ajao S. Adewale welcomed the Army delegation warmly and described the visit as a “powerful symbol of shared commitment to public safety.” He stressed that the success of security operations depends largely on unity, cooperation, and intelligence sharing among all security stakeholders. “This visit marks a turning point in proactive engagement between our institutions,” he added.
