The Ibeju High School (IHS) Alumni Association has declared its full support for the second-term bid of Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government. During a solidarity visit on Thursday, the association, led by its president Alhaji Balogun Adewale Akeem, praised Hon. Olowa’s leadership and pledged to mobilize in his favor ahead of the forthcoming local government elections.
The meeting, held at the council secretariat, brought together prominent alumni members, including public office holders, community leaders, and political stakeholders. Hon. Olowa expressed his appreciation for their enduring support and commended the association for maintaining the legacy of their alma mater. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.
“In my second term, we are poised to consolidate on our achievements and break new ground,” Hon. Olowa said. “But more importantly, I want this administration to be one that listens. I encourage you to keep us on our toes—engage us, challenge us, and partner with us to build the Ibeju-Lekki we all envision.”
Vice Chairman Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji and Council Secretary Hon. Adewale Adebanjo—himself a product of IHS—also addressed the gathering, urging the alumni to remain actively involved in governance and civic advocacy. Their remarks were reinforced by Hon. Gbenga Balogun, a senior political figure and alumni member, who lauded the chairman for hosting the meeting in the newly completed council complex—a symbol, he said, of purposeful leadership.
As part of the visit, the alumni presented commemorative T-shirts and caps to the Executive Chairman, who received them with gratitude. The event ended with goodwill messages and prayers for continued peace and progress in the local government.
Speaking after the visit, Chief Press Secretary Akadiri Ayorinde described the occasion as “a remarkable demonstration of community trust and continuity.” He added, “This endorsement from the IHS Alumni is not just about politics—it’s a vote of confidence in the developmental strides made under Hon. Olowa’s administration. It reflects a deep connection between leadership and the community’s educational roots.”
