The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has commenced the registration of residents for the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme, beginning with Ward B as the first phase of the exercise.
The initiative, which aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on poverty alleviation and social inclusion, is designed to provide targeted financial support to vulnerable households within the local government area.
According to a statement from the Media Office of the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, the registration exercise is taking place at designated centres across all wards, and residents have been advised to visit the centre closest to them on their ward’s scheduled date.
Applicants are required to provide personal, contact, and household details including their names, dates of birth, gender, marital status, address, and phone number. They are also expected to present valid identification such as a Voter’s Card, LASRRA, NIN, or BVN. Household information such as family size, type of building, occupation, and income level will be requested, along with additional details covering health condition, disability status, and employment situation.
The local government emphasized that registration is completely free and urged residents to ensure that all information provided is accurate to facilitate fair and transparent data capture.
The Conditional Cash Transfer initiative forms part of the Federal Government’s broader social investment programme aimed at cushioning the effects of economic reforms and reducing the burden of poverty on low-income families.
Speaking on the development, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, reiterated the council’s commitment to ensuring that eligible residents benefit from the programme. He noted that adequate structures have been put in place to ensure a smooth registration and verification process across all wards.
The statement further added that the programme is expected to make a tangible difference in the lives of residents, particularly women, the elderly, and persons living with disabilities. Residents were reminded to attend the exercise on their scheduled ward dates and to present authentic documents during the registration process.
