The President and Chairman of Council of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), Mrs. Funmi Ekundayo, FCIS, recently led a high-level delegation on a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, CFA, in Abuja.
The purpose of the visit was to foster strategic collaboration between the Institute and the Federal Ministry of Finance, particularly in areas of corporate governance, public sector transparency, and capacity development. During the meeting, the ICSAN delegation emphasized the Institute’s role in promoting sound governance practices and professional ethics in both public and private sectors.
Mrs. Ekundayo highlighted ICSAN’s ongoing initiatives aimed at building institutional capacity and contributing to national development through professional training, advocacy, and thought leadership. She noted that strengthening collaboration with government stakeholders is vital for advancing corporate governance standards and achieving national economic goals.
In response, Dr. Uzoka-Anite welcomed the delegation and expressed her appreciation for ICSAN’s commitment to ethical leadership and governance reforms. She acknowledged the importance of such professional bodies in supporting government efforts, especially in improving financial management and accountability systems.
The meeting concluded with mutual expressions of intent to explore specific areas of partnership, including policy advisory, training programs for public servants, and broader stakeholder engagement on governance-related matters.
Present at the meeting were senior ICSAN officials and representatives from the Ministry of Finance. The visit underscores ICSAN’s strategic drive to deepen its engagement with key institutions towards fostering national development through good governance.
