The Tunji Disu has appointed Bode Ojajuni as the new Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, placing him in charge of the command amid ongoing efforts to boost security operations nationwide.
Ojajuni, now the 38th Commissioner of Police in the state, brings about three decades of policing experience, cutting across operations, criminal investigations, administration and international assignments.
Until his redeployment, he headed the Nigeria National Central Bureau of INTERPOL in Lagos, where he coordinated intelligence-sharing and led efforts against transnational crime syndicates.
He previously served as Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Ogun State, contributing to efforts to curb violent crime, and also worked as Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector-General of Police.
His service record includes roles as Area Commander, Area “A” Command, Lagos, and Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos State Command, positions where he was noted for strengthening police-community relations.
Ojajuni has also held several operational commands within the Mobile Police Force and served in key security assignments across multiple states, including border patrol and anti-fraud units.
On the international stage, he is a member of the INTERPOL African Committee and has represented Nigeria at regional and global security meetings, including engagements involving ECOWAS and INTERPOL.
He was recently appointed Secretary to the national committee on the establishment of state police, reflecting his involvement in broader policing reforms.
A member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Ojajuni has received multiple professional recognitions for his service.
He is expected to focus on strengthening security architecture, improving intelligence-led policing and enhancing public confidence in the Ogun State Police Command.
