The Nigeria Police Force has extended warm felicitations to retired Inspector-General of Police, Aliyu Ibrahim Atta, GCON, CFR, NPM, mni, as he marks his 88th birthday.
In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, the Force described the former IGP as a towering figure in Nigerian policing, whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
“IGP Atta’s remarkable life and career are a testament to wisdom, discipline, and visionary leadership,” Adejobi stated. “His service during a critical period in our national development helped shape the Nigeria Police Force into a more professional and principled institution.”
The statement further described the retired police chief as one of the most distinguished elder statesmen in Nigeria’s security community, whose dedication to duty and contributions to public service and institutional integrity remain enduring reference points.
