The Kebbi State Police Command has assured residents of its unwavering commitment to public safety and security as preparations intensify for this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, extended warm Sallah greetings to Muslim faithful across the state and called for peaceful observance of the festival. He urged residents to reflect on the essence of the season and offer prayers for the continued peace and prosperity of Kebbi State and Nigeria at large.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, I encourage all citizens to cooperate with security personnel and remain law-abiding,” CP Sani said. “We have put in place comprehensive security measures to ensure a safe and hitch-free celebration across the state.”
The Police Commissioner also directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Commanders to intensify visible policing and deploy personnel and logistics to strategic locations. He emphasized the need for aggressive patrols and proactive surveillance in all areas of responsibility.
The command said it has made adequate provisions for the security of lives and property, particularly around worship centres, recreational venues, and other public gathering spots. Both overt and covert deployments are being utilized to forestall any potential security threats.
CP Sani warned individuals or groups with intentions to disrupt public peace during the festivities to stay away from the state or risk facing the full force of the law.
The command also called on religious leaders and community members to support the efforts of the police and other security agencies, reinforcing that public cooperation remains vital to successful policing during the festive period.
