The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), says it is interrogating the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Mr Moyosore Ogunlewe over an alleged misappropriation of funds of the local government.
Spokesperson for the commission, Mr Ademola Bakare confirmed that the Commission was on the matter as reported and concerned persons had been invited for questioning.
Mr. Bakare said that the Chairman was not the only council official invited for the interrogation, supervisors in charge of Health, Education, Agriculture, Environment, chieftancy Affairs were among those being grilled by the commission.
Their investigations followed a petition by a Special Adviser on Boundary Matters of the council, Mr Ganiyu Oyebanjo, who alleged that Mr. Ogunlewe and his aides were allegedly involved in corruption practices through contract inflation and self enrichment.
Mr. Oyebanjo, an executive member of the council, said that he submitted the petition on October 23, 2024, backed by classified local government documents.
It was also gathered that Some members of the executive committee invited were yet to honour the commission’s summon.
ICPC is interrogating Mr. Ogunlewe over alleged billions of naira misappropriated and contract cost inflation.
