As preparations intensify for the forthcoming Local Government and Local Council Development Area (LG/LCDA) elections scheduled for July, the Labour Party (LP) in Epe has called on youths to rally behind its emerging candidates, promising a fresh narrative in the political direction of the community.
In a public statement addressed to the youth, Dr. A. Onakoya, a key stakeholder in the party’s local chapter, emphasized that the emergence of LP candidates for various elective positions reflects a collective desire for genuine progress and good governance.
“Youths in Epe demanded a change in the political landscape, and to the glory of God, some of us who are truly committed to progress are offering real solutions,” Onakoya said.
He urged the community to unite behind the Labour Party, describing it as a credible platform that prioritizes transparency, accountability, and citizen-centered leadership. Onakoya also highlighted the party’s recognition of the trust placed in it by voters seeking meaningful alternatives to the status quo.
“In the Labour Party, we deeply value the confidence of the electorate, who continue to choose vision and integrity over corruption and poor leadership,” he added.
The LP in Epe is expected to unveil its full slate of candidates in the coming weeks, as it positions itself as a formidable force in the upcoming elections. Party leaders are calling on all residents, particularly the youth, to participate actively in the democratic process.
