The Lagos State Council Chairmen’s Wives Association (LASCCWA), led by its President, Dr. Mrs. Kehinde Olushola Razaq Ajala, convened in Ibeju-Lekki yesterday for its regular meeting and a community empowerment programme aimed at uplifting women and families across two local councils.
The event, co-hosted by the Chairpersons of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mrs. Jemila Olowa and Mrs. Ramat Bola Kasali respectively, drew widespread commendation from council executives and residents.
Welcoming the group, Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki LGA, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, applauded the association for playing a stabilizing and supportive role in governance. He described the chairmen’s wives as “The Rock of Gibraltar,” praising their steadfast contributions behind the scenes and highlighting their prayers and organizational strength as vital to effective leadership at the local level.
In his remarks, Hon. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, expressed gratitude for the impactful presence of LASCCWA and offered prayers for their continued success and personal growth. He noted the association’s efforts as critical to achieving inclusive development at the grassroots.
As part of the visit, LASCCWA carried out a targeted empowerment initiative, distributing grinding machines, sewing machines, makeup kits, and financial assistance to selected residents of Ibeju-Lekki and Lekki LCDA.
The Lagos State Council Chairmen’s Wives Association is a strategic platform created to amplify the roles of local government chairpersons’ spouses in governance, advocacy, and community development. Through outreach programmes and support services, LASCCWA continues to champion initiatives that improve the lives of women, children, and vulnerable citizens across Lagos State.
