The Local Government Service Commission of Lagos State, led by its Chairman, Hon. Ayinde Kamal Bayewu (FCIB), has lauded the developmental strides of the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, during an official visit to the council on Thursday.
The visit was part of the Commission’s statutory tour of local governments across the state to assess the performance, welfare, and working conditions of local government staff.
Receiving the delegation at the Council Secretariat, Hon. Olowa expressed appreciation for the Commission’s ongoing efforts to strengthen professionalism and efficiency in the civil service. He commended the Commission’s regular deployment and promotion of staff, noting that the system has improved productivity and morale among local government workers.
The Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to staff welfare, promising continuous investment in training, infrastructure, and technology to enhance service delivery. In a gesture of goodwill ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, he announced a N50,000 welfare package for each staff member, a move that was met with enthusiastic applause.
In his remarks, Hon. Kamal Bayewu applauded the remarkable transformation observed in Ibeju-Lekki, describing it as a clear improvement from the previous year. He praised Hon. Olowa for providing a conducive work environment and delivering tangible infrastructure projects that support civil service operations.
The Commission toured key sites including the newly constructed legislative building, the Citrus Garden Estate—where a portion is designated for staff housing—and the ongoing 400-meter Secretariat road project.
Other members of the visiting delegation included Hon. Hakeem Adisa Bamgbola (Commissioner I), Hon. Ahmed Ayinde Seriki (Commissioner II), and Hon. Taofik Abiodun Adaranijo (Commissioner III), alongside the Council Manager and senior management of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.
The visit underscored the Lagos State Government’s commitment to strengthening local governance through regular oversight and collaboration with council leadership.
