The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of a notorious cult group and recovered a locally made firearm along with six live cartridges during a tactical operation in the Owode-Ikorodu area.
According to a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspects—identified as Adenuga Tosin, Jesutofunmi Ezekiel, and Adeniji Juwon—were apprehended following a credible intelligence tip-off. The operation, led by one of the Command’s tactical units, was described as “intelligence-led and well-coordinated.”
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects are active members of a cult group allegedly involved in a range of violent crimes across Lagos State. The police further revealed that the individuals played key roles in the movement and distribution of illegal firearms, posing a serious threat to public safety.
“The Command is intensifying efforts to track down other fleeing members of the syndicate,” Hundeyin said. “Upon the conclusion of investigations, the arrested suspects will be charged to court in line with the dictates of the law.”
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reiterated the Command’s unwavering stance against cultism and related crimes. He urged Lagos residents to partner with the police by providing timely and actionable information, adding that the Command remains committed to maintaining law and order throughout the state.
