The Police in Lagos have arrested a suspected traffic robber who allegedly stole human hair extensions valued at ₦20 million from a moving truck on the CMS-Marina Bridge.
According to the spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspect, identified as Austine, was apprehended by officers from the Ebute-Ero Division following a prompt response to a tip-off received on April 25, 2025.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a criminal gang intercepted a moving truck and made away with a large sack containing the high-value hair products, all without the driver’s awareness. Officers later traced Austine to the Marina car park beneath the bridge, where he was found with the stolen items. He reportedly sustained injuries while attempting to flee by jumping from the bridge and is currently receiving medical care under police watch.
The Command has launched a manhunt for the other gang members involved in the heist.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the swift response of his officers and reassured Lagos residents of the Command’s ongoing commitment to ensuring road safety and security. He also encouraged the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities.
