There is a need to prioritize unity, peace and development to chart a greater course for Igboye kingdom in Eredo local council Development area of Epe in Lagos.
The newly coronated monarch of Igboye kingdom, The Orijeru, Oba Abdulrasaq Musa made the remarks during his coronation ceremony in Lagos.
In his acceptance speech, the Orijeru, Oba Musa thanked governor Babajide Sanwo-olu for approving his selection as the monarch of Igboye kingdom and promised to work in alignment with the governor’s vision to ensure the progress and prosperity of the citizen.
The Oba Orijeru of Igboye kingdom said governor Sanwo-olu’s leadership and unwavering commitment to the development of Lagos state are truly exemplary.
The monarch confidently emphasised that he was deeply humbled and profoundly grateful as he accepted the mantle of leadership as the Oba Orijeru of Igboye kingdom noting that this momentous occasion marked not only a few chapter in his life but also a collective turning point for the great Igboye kingdom.
The Orijeru Oba Musa while addressing his subjects noted that his coronation was not just a celebration but a call to unity, a new dawn for growth and a renewed commitment to the ideals that make Igboye kingdom great.
” I owe you a debt of gratitude for your steadfast enthusiasm, encouragement and love. Your unwavering support means the world to me and I pledge to work tirelessly to ensure that our town thrives and prosper”
He said ” while this day has been long awaited, the joy of its realisation serves as a solace and inspiration for us all. Let us use this moment to come together and chart a greater course for Igboye kingdom.
The monarch promised his subjects that he would prioritize peace, togetherness and development and as well collaborate with all necessary stakeholders in progress to facilitate growth and peaceful coexistence in the land.
Oba Musa who acknowledged the youths of Igboye kingdom as vibrant people said they are the backbone ot the their communities and implored them to always stand for the truth and uphold the values of integrity and justice.
He noted that their active participation and dedication to the betterment of the kingdom would undoubtedly shape the future of the people.
The monarch urged fellow royal fathers to continue to render their unwavering support and guidance as a collective strive for the advancement of the communities in Epe area of the state.
The first class monarch also specifically thanked and appreciated his blood brother, Otunba Abdulwasiu Musa-Adebamowo whose relentless pursuit of justice and fairness became a cornerstone of the kingship journey.

Chairman of Eredo local council Development Area of Epe, Mr. Monsuru Akinloye noted that ascending the throne came with lots of responsibility and aspirations for the development and growth of the people in his kingdom.
Mr. Akinloye said that the government was confident that the monarch would uphold the dignity of the throne, maintain cordial relationship with other monarchs while promoting peaceful coexistence with neighbouring communities.
The council chairman said that the monarch should work with all key players in the development of his kingdom.
The council of traditional chiefs known as Baales said that as the custodians of the various communities that make up Igboye kingdom, they are confident that the new monarchical leadership will bring transformative development, harmony and a rekindled sense of purpose and remain steadfast in supporting the king for a brighter future for Igboye kingdom.
The council expressed optimism that the enthronement of Oba Musa marked the dawn of a new chapter of hope, unity and progress in the cherished Igboye kingdom.
The traditional chiefs also prayed that God should grant the monarch, the required wisdom, strength and good health to lead the kingdom into an era of unprecedented peace and prosperity.
In a congratulatory message, the olisa of Igboye who is also the chairman of Ologbin Quarters, Chief Abdulquadri Olugbenga who said that it was deeply rooted in the tradition of the land that’s the monarch served as the custodian of thier heritage explained that his role as the Olisa would remain steadfast in ensuring that the foundations of peace and harmony are strengthened.
On his part, the olori ebi, family head of Ewade Ruling House Otunba Abdulwasiu Musa-Adebamowo stated that the emergency of the monarch is a pride to the ruling House and the entire Igboye kingdom adding that it symbolises the unity, resilience and strength of the family lineage.
He said ” we are confident that your reign will bring harmony, development and progress to our land, upholding the legacy of our ancestors”
In a goodwill message, the Vice Chancellor of Lagos state University of Science and Technology, Professor Odusanya Olumuyiwa assured the monarch of his readiness to support in the area of educational advancement and youth development for the progress of the kingdom.
Chairman of youth of Igboye kingdom, Mr. Adeyemi Adeleke said the youth are immensely proud to have a leader of the caliber of Oba Musa whom they stated embodies wisdom, humility and unwavering commitment to the growth of Igboye kingdom.
” As we celebrate this historic milestone, we pledge our loyalty, support and active participation in building a brighter future for Igboye under your esteemed reign”
Members of the coronation planning committee included Mrs. Salifatu Amadasun, prince Rasaq Sanni, colonel John Osikoya, Otunba Felix Tomiwa and chief Sangosanya Toyin.
The ceremony was colourful as age grade, youths and masquerades performed and displayed the cultural values and richness of Igboye kingdom during the coronation ceremony.
