Nigeria Police Academy Concludes IGP Interview, Inspects Passing-Out Parade Rehearsals

The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, has successfully concluded the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Interview for cadets of the Regular Course 7 between October 22 and 25, 2025.

The high-level assessment, which forms a crucial part of the final phase of cadet training, was conducted under the leadership of the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of the Department of Training and Development, DIG Frank Emeka Mba, MNI. The interview board evaluated the cadets’ academic, professional, and psychological readiness ahead of their Passing-Out Parade (POP).

In his address, DIG Mba charged the cadets to uphold the core values of discipline, professionalism, and integrity in their future assignments. He reminded them that their journey as police officers was only beginning, cautioning that any form of misconduct or breach of the law at this stage could still attract dismissal.

“Policing is a noble calling that demands courage, self-restraint, and continuous learning,” DIG Mba told the cadets. “The nation is counting on you to uphold justice, protect lives and property, and embody the ideals of the Nigeria Police Force.”

The Commandant of the Academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero along with members of the Academy’s management team, was on ground throughout the exercise. He reaffirmed the institution’s unwavering commitment to producing police officers of strong character, competence, and leadership quality.

During his visit, DIG Mba also inspected rehearsals for the forthcoming Passing-Out Parade, where he expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation, precision, and discipline displayed by the cadets. He commended the inclusion of a female cadet officer in the Colour Party, a symbolic representation of the IGP’s ongoing commitment to gender inclusivity and equal opportunity in the Force.

He further witnessed a tactical combat demonstration by the Academy’s Combat Team and lauded their professionalism, coordination, and readiness to confront modern security challenges.

The IGP Interview remains a crucial component of the Academy’s evaluation framework, ensuring that only qualified and well-rounded cadets transition into the Nigeria Police Force.

The date for the official Passing-Out Parade of the Regular Course 7 cadets, which will mark their formal induction as officers of the Nigeria Police Force, will be announced in due course.
