Efforts toward the historic maiden convocation, Course Night, and Passing-Out Parade of the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, have gained further momentum as the institution’s leadership initiated strategic engagements with the Kano State Government to ensure a successful and nationally symbolic event.

As part of the preparations, the Commandant of the Academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero led a high-level delegation to the Government House, Kano, where they conferred with the Executive Governor of Kano State on areas of collaboration and state-level support.

AIG Atayero was accompanied by top officials including the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Bakori, PhD; Deputy Commandant, CP Bassey Ewah,  Director of Works, Infrastructure and Physical Development, CP Sani Musa Mohammed, and the Academy Registrar, Barr. Dr. Ekpere Ezegwu, among other senior personnel.

The Governor, while receiving the delegation, expressed satisfaction with the proactive engagement and assured the state government’s full cooperation, describing the convocation as a landmark national project that will strengthen policing capacity and Nigeria’s internal security architecture.

The visit, according to officials, reinforces the long-standing partnership between the Academy and the Kano State Government while underlining joint commitment to educational excellence, institutional development, and security advancement.
