The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, has announced the commencement of online applications for admission into the 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes. The application window will be open from 28th July to 8th September, 2025.
The Academy invites qualified and interested candidates to apply within the specified period. This programme offers young Nigerians a unique opportunity to receive comprehensive academic and professional training, equipping them for a fulfilling career as officers in the Nigeria Police Force.
To be eligible, applicants must be of Nigerian origin by birth and possess a valid National Identity Number (NIN). They must have scored a minimum of 180 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and chosen the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, as their first choice institution. In addition, applicants are required to have at least six credits in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, or an equivalent examination. These credits must include English Language and Mathematics.
Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 21 by 31st October, 2025, and must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit. Male applicants are expected to have a minimum height of 1.67 meters, while female applicants should have a minimum height of 1.64 meters. Male candidates must also have a chest measurement of not less than 86 centimeters (34 inches). All applicants must be unmarried and females must not be pregnant at the time of admission. A valid email address and phone number are also required. It is important to note that SSCE results obtained before 2021 will not be accepted.
Applicants are required to visit the official Academy website at www.admission.polac.edu.ng to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code. A non-refundable fee of six thousand naira (₦6,000), which includes two thousand naira (₦2,000) for Post-UTME, is to be paid at any commercial bank. After payment, applicants should complete the online form and upload scanned copies of their credentials, including their SSCE certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and certificate of origin.
After completing the application, candidates are to print their completed application form and guarantor form, both of which must be presented at the Academy during the Aptitude Test.
The selection process consists of four stages. The first is a Computer-Based Aptitude Test, to be held at the Nigeria Police Academy ICT Centre in Wudil, with the exact date to be announced. Candidates who pass the test will proceed to automated physical screening, where they will present original copies of their educational qualifications, birth certificate, medical certificate of fitness from a government hospital, certificate of good character from a traditional ruler, indigene certificate signed by the local government chairman or secretary, and a completed guarantor form signed by a senior public servant of not less than Grade Level 13 or a senior officer in the Police, Armed Forces, or Paramilitary services. Those who meet the physical screening criteria will undergo medical screening, followed by an interview and final selection process.
All successful candidates will be contacted via SMS and email. Training for the selected candidates will begin on a date to be announced.
The Nigeria Police Academy offers degree programmes under three faculties: Humanities, which includes English, History and International Studies, and Linguistics; Science, which includes Biochemistry, Computer Science, and Forensic Science; and Social and Management Sciences, which offers Accounting, Criminology, Psychology, Political Science, and Education Management.
Successful candidates will undergo five years of academic and police training, after which they will earn a bachelor’s degree and be commissioned as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP II) in the Nigeria Police Force.
