The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has extended the deadline for the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit requirement for vehicles with tinted windows to October 2, 2025.
The decision, approved by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, follows a surge in applications on the official portal, which the Force says reflects increased public compliance with the directive.
According to Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the extension will allow sufficient time for thorough vetting of applications to ensure permits are granted only to eligible individuals in line with national security considerations. It will also enable the continued refinement of both digital and physical verification processes to safeguard the integrity of the permit system and prevent abuse.
The NPF reiterated that the only authorized application platform remains https://possap.gov.ng and urged the public to ignore unofficial channels. Citizens have also been encouraged to report any cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing to the Police via the dedicated hotline 09169967000.
The Force assured Nigerians of its commitment to balancing convenience with robust security measures for the safety of all.
