Orijeru of Igboye Urges Unity, Cooperation for Kingdom’s Development at Ikioba Festival

The Orijeru of Igboye Kingdom, Oba Abdulrasaq Musa, has emphasized the importance of unity and collective responsibility in fostering peace, security, and sustainable development in the community.

Speaking during the annual Ikioba celebration—held on the second day of the Ileya (Eid al-Adha) festival—the monarch called on all indigenes and residents of Igboye to embrace love, unity, and cooperation as essential pillars for progress.

Oba Musa highlighted the need for stronger collaborative efforts in addressing the security challenges facing the kingdom. “Security is a shared responsibility,” he said, urging community members, local authorities, and security agencies to work hand-in-hand to safeguard lives and property.

While acknowledging that some positive developments have recently taken root in the kingdom, the traditional ruler noted that more still needs to be done. In particular, he pointed to healthcare as an area requiring urgent attention, reminding the authorities of earlier promises to improve medical services in the community.

“We have started seeing signs of progress, and I am hopeful,” he said. “But we must continue to work together and demand more for our people.”

The monarch concluded his remarks with prayers for continued peace, prosperity, and development in Igboye Kingdom, expressing optimism that, with unity and commitment, the community’s future remains bright.
