Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the Senior Pastor of House On The Rock Church, has voluntarily reported to the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja following a viral video in which he was seen holding a gun-like object during an altercation on the road.
The Lagos State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development on Monday. According to Hundeyin, Pastor Adefarasin is currently being interrogated by detectives, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
“The outcome of the investigation will be made public. No one is above the law,” CSP Hundeyin said in a brief statement.
The video, which surfaced online over the weekend, appears to show the pastor driving an unregistered vehicle and pointing what seems to be a firearm at another road user during a dispute. The footage has since generated widespread attention and public concern.
At the time of this report, the police have not confirmed whether the object in question was a real firearm or a replica, nor have they stated whether any charges will be filed.
Pastor Adefarasin is a leading figure in Nigeria’s Pentecostal community and founder of the multi-campus House On The Rock Church, known for hosting the annual gospel music event, The Experience, one of the largest in Africa.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and await the findings of the investigation. Further updates are expected in due course.
