Police Academy Hosts Strategic Security Lecture, Honours Former Commandant

The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, held another edition of its Strategic Security Lecture Series, featuring retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Abdulrahman Ahmed as Guest Lecturer.

The series, inspired by the vision of the 22nd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, is designed to promote professionalism, enhance leadership capacity, and deepen operational knowledge among police officers and cadets.

The lecture, hosted by the 24th Commandant of the Academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero and represented by the Deputy Commandant, drew a wide audience, including directors, heads of departments, senior officers, and cadets.

In his presentation, AIG Ahmed, who also served as the 22nd Commandant of the Academy, spoke extensively on law enforcement professionalism, investigation, operations, and leadership development. His delivery, which lasted several hours, was described by participants as engaging, insightful, and a reminder that he remains “retired but not tired.”

The event concluded with the presentation of a Plaque of Honour to the former Commandant in recognition of his outstanding contributions to policing and the Nigeria Police Academy.

The Strategic Security Lecture Series continues to serve as a platform for knowledge-sharing and mentorship, preparing the next generation of police leaders for the challenges of modern security management.
