The physical and credentials screening of successful applicants from Enugu State in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 constables into the Nigeria Police Force has entered its second day.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, visited the screening centre in Enugu to monitor the progress of the exercise and assess the level of compliance with the recruitment guidelines.
During the visit, Giwa commended members of the screening team, which includes officers of the Nigeria Police Force as well as officials of the Police Service Commission and the Federal Character Commission, for their professionalism and commitment to the exercise.
He urged the officials to remain diligent and ensure that only qualified and deserving candidates are selected at the end of the recruitment process.
The police commissioner also addressed the applicants, cautioning them against fraudsters who may attempt to exploit them by offering false promises of assistance in the recruitment process.
According to him, the recruitment exercise is entirely free and transparent, advising applicants to avoid anyone demanding money in exchange for recruitment assistance.
Giwa further encouraged the candidates to conduct themselves in an orderly manner and strictly comply with all the guidelines provided for the screening exercise.
More than one hundred applicants have so far been screened since the exercise began on Monday, March 9, 2026.
The recruitment process is part of the federal government’s plan to strengthen manpower in the Nigeria Police Force and enhance security across the country.
