President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on a significant working visit focused on infrastructure development and regional cooperation.
According to a statement from the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu is in the state to commission several landmark projects executed under the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
Among the key highlights of the visit is the formal commissioning of the Emeka Anyaoku Institute for International Studies and Diplomacy, situated within Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. The institute is named after the renowned Nigerian diplomat and aims to serve as a hub for academic and diplomatic excellence.
President Tinubu also inaugurated the Solution Fun City, a multifaceted recreational complex that features the Anambra Country Club, a Family Fun House, a Water Park, and an Amusement Park — a major stride in promoting tourism and family entertainment in the region.
Additionally, the President commissioned the Government House Mini City and the iconic Anambra Tower of Light, both touted as symbols of modern governance and urban transformation in the state. He also unveiled a historical Monument of the Statues of Five Anambra Heroes, celebrating the state’s legacy of leadership and service.
To cap off the visit, Governor Soludo hosted a grand reception in honour of the President, attended by traditional rulers, political leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps. President Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja later today.
This marks the President’s first official visit to Anambra State since taking office, underscoring his administration’s commitment to fostering development partnerships across Nigeria.
