President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted a N1.702 trillion budget proposal for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for the 2025 fiscal year to the House of Representatives for consideration.
The proposal was formally presented to the House on Tuesday through a letter read on the floor by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas.
According to the President, 85% of the proposed capital expenditure is earmarked for the completion of ongoing projects across the FCT, while 15% will be allocated to new developmental initiatives.
President Tinubu emphasized that the 2025 FCT budget focuses on investment-driven growth, job creation, youth empowerment, security, and enhanced welfare for residents of the nation’s capital.
He appealed to lawmakers in the lower chamber to ensure speedy consideration and passage of the budget, stressing its critical role in consolidating infrastructure and governance reforms within the territory.
The budget presentation marks a key step in aligning national capital development priorities with the administration’s broader Renewed Hope Agenda.
