Nigerian cleric and philanthropist, Prophetess Esther Ajayi, has urged media organisations to prioritise truthful reporting and promote positive narratives capable of strengthening moral values and national development.
Prophetess Ajayi made the call in Lagos while hosting the Director of Lagos Operations of Radio Nigeria, Adenike Adegoke, who paid her a courtesy visit at the headquarters of the Love of Christ Generation Church.
Speaking during the interaction, the cleric emphasised the influential role of the media in shaping public perception and guiding societal values, urging journalists to report events accurately and responsibly.
“Say it as it is. Report what you see without adding or subtracting from it. Your conscience matters, and the truth should guide every report,” she said.
Prophetess Ajayi also encouraged media outlets to highlight Nigeria’s strengths and opportunities rather than focusing solely on negative narratives, stressing that responsible reporting can help inspire hope and encourage investment in the country.
She particularly urged journalists to promote Nigeria’s agricultural potential, noting that the nation’s fertile land remains a valuable resource capable of transforming the economy if properly harnessed.
According to her, sustained media advocacy could attract investors and motivate young Nigerians to explore opportunities within the agricultural sector.
The cleric also addressed the social and economic challenges confronting the country, urging Nigerians to demonstrate compassion and responsibility toward one another.
She said meaningful national transformation would only occur when individuals begin to contribute positively to their communities through acts of generosity and empowerment.
Prophetess Ajayi, whose foundation has supported students, traders and vulnerable groups over the years, explained that her commitment to humanitarian work is rooted in personal experiences and a vow to give back to society.
During the visit, princess Adegoke commended the cleric’s humanitarian contributions and spiritual leadership, noting that her work continues to impact lives both in Nigeria and abroad.
She added that Radio Nigeria remains committed to highlighting stories that inspire social responsibility, promote moral values and encourage national development.
The visit also provided an opportunity to explore possible media collaborations, including a radio interview aimed at sharing Ajayi’s experiences and inspiring women through community-focused programmes and mentorship initiatives.
